Announces Over 100 Local Endorsements THIBODAUX, LA- Congressman Charlie Melancon
(Napoleonville) announced all of his endorsements from locally elected officials
today. To date, Congressman Melancon has
over 100 endorsements from officials around the 3rd District. Over
30 officials attended the event at the Wetlands Acadian
Cultural Center
in Thibodaux.
In attendance were, among
many others, Agriculture Commissioner Bob Odom, St. Bernard Parish Sheriff Jack
Stevens, State Senator Butch Gautreaux, and State Senator
Joel Chiasson. “Charlie
did a great job for St. Bernard Parish during Katrina and has continued to work
to help us on our road to recovery,” Stevens said.
“I, and the people of St. Bernard, are forever
grateful for the work that he did.” Tony
Falterman, District Attorney for the 23rd
Judicial District and Chairman of Melancon for Congress, said of his longtime
friend: “It’s an honor to serve as Chairman
for Charlie’s campaign once again. I knew
that Charlie would do an outstanding job when I chaired his campaign two years
ago, and he has gone above and beyond even my high expectations.
I am proud to endorse him for re-election.” “There’s
no doubt in my mind that Charlie is the right man to represent us in Washington,” Grand Isle
Mayor David Camardelle said. “Without his support and work on behalf of Grand
Isle, our small community would still be washed away from Katrina. I proudly support his campaign for re-election.” "I
am honored to have the support of so many leaders from across South
Louisiana," Melancon said. "My colleagues here today
feel like I do: we are in office to serve and represent the people
of Louisiana to the best of our abilities.
That's the belief I took with me to Washington, and a belief I will continue
to hold for as long as I am in office." Listed
