Has 10-to-1 Cash on Hand Advantage As
of the latest FEC filing period on September 30, Congressman Charlie Melancon
has an almost 10 to 1 cash on hand advantage over opponent Craig Romero. Melancon
showed just over $1.3 million on hand, while Romero showed just $147,000 in his
campaign coffers. For the quarter as a
whole, Melancon raised over $418,000, whereas Romero showed just over $290,000
total receipts. "These numbers backup
what experts around the country have been saying for months- Melancon is well
on his way to re-election," Campaign manager Bradley Beychok said. "Our
fundraising has been great and our poll numbers are fantastic. We are extremely
confident going into Election Day." To
date, Charlie Melancon has raised over $2.3 million, while Romero trails with
just over $1.7 million. Melancon"s $2.3 million is the 3rd highest for an
incumbent Democrat in the country. With
just over three weeks left until Election Day, the "meauxmentum" continues
to gain speed and all signs point to victory on November 7th. ##### |
