is Endorsed by National Rifle Association Congressman Charlie
Melancon (Napoleonville) has received the endorsement of the National Rifle Association
for re-election to Congress. Congressman Melancon also received an "A" rating
from the organization, b ased on his voting record and answers to a candidate
questionnaire.
"I am honored to have the support of the National Rifle Association, which
represents many sportsmen and gun owners throughout south Louisiana," Melancon
said. "I strongly believe in the Second Amendment and will always defend the rights
of responsible gun owners." The
NRA, founded in 1871, is the nation's foremost gun-owner advocacy organization.
The primary purpose of the NRA has always been gun education, but its Political
Victory Fund also makes candidate endorsements and encourages its over 3 million
members to become actively involved in the campaigns in which the NRA endorses.

Director of Federal Affairs Charles Cunningham said of Melancon: "During his
tenure in Congress, he has consistently supported the constitutional rights of
law-abiding gun owners and sportsmen, demonstrating a strong commitment to the
Second Amendment and our hunting heritage."
