high school sports politics
Why is everyone telling me not to teach?

In school so far, I wanted to teach elementary, middle, or high school, to teach history/political science, or agriculture, do Public Relations, Sports PR, political PR, to be a journalist, sports journalist, political journalist,
to be an editor, to do nursing, and to do EMT/paramedics
I decided that I wasn’t cut out for paramedics, so I decided to change majors again (I swear, by the time I graduate, I could have had a P.H.D) for teaching high school, history and political science. I’m a geek, those are my fav. subjects of all time, and I read historical books and keep up with the politics. Everyone wondered why I wanted to do EMT. “Nurses make more money!” Now they are wondering why I don’t want to do that.
“You want to teach?!”
My mom teaches, and I hang out with my mom’s teachers on her team after school a lot of times, so I feel I know what it’s like. I just don’t know why they think I shouldn’t, and why I should choose EMT over teaching? Any comments?

I would suggest the one thing that you haven’t done yet – take some time off. You obviously don’t know where you want to go in life and who you want to be. Take some time off and see the world – it will do you some good. Then, and only then, come back and take a fresh look at your options and your answer will be clear. Without that break you will always be second-guessing your choices and wondering what could have been.
