How many of you are just so sick and tired of buzz words?
It always annoys me, whether in religion or politics, from athiests and Christians to left and right winged leaders; the usage of buzzwords.
“I’m saved!” “Imaginary”
“Dick Cheney is a Nazi!”
Right. While I’m sure there are firm logical supports for these premises (or not, depending on the situation), people still use the terms and phrases they do due to their blatent emotional context, rather than the actual logical connotation the terms are supposed to have. Am I the only one that thinks that people should have some kind of ethical responsibility to not intentionally use terminology that is inheritly misleading due to connotative meaning?
Sorry for the rant, it’s just a pet peave of mine.
Emotion isn’t something to be discarded necessarily, but arguements are inheritly logical in nature, so if you’re going to argue, do it with logic.
Good pet peeve. I like that pet peeve. Think I’ll make that my new pet peeve also.
